Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, HD Fitter is responsible for completing all servicing and maintenance work orders for the company’s plant and equipment, motor vehicles and other P&E assets.

Key Attributes and Skills:

  • Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Heavy earthmoving and mobile plant experience
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge
  • Attention to detail and highly motivated
  • Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Be flexible, demonstrate initiative and work effectively under pressure
  • Problem-solving being able to think outside the square
  • National recognised construction induction card
  • Necessary applicable licences i.e. vehicle air-conditioning electrical licence & forklift high risk work licence
  • Hold a valid Australian HR drivers licence

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out daily tasks including scheduled maintenance & servicing, planned & unplanned maintenance and repairs of P&E, both in the workshop and on-site
  • Inspections, testing and diagnostics on company motor vehicles, small tools, plant and equipment assets for servicing, maintenance and defect repairs
  • Perform fault diagnostics to detect and correct mechanical and electronic faults
  • Attend to breakdowns
  • Housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness of the Workshop
  • Comply with reasonable directions and WHS policies and procedures
  • Operate heavy equipment as required / within qualifications
