The project delivers critical fuel infrastructure upgrades that support Defence air, land and maritime operations from one of Australia’s most strategically significant northern Defence bases. Works are being undertaken within a live operational military environment and are designed to enhance fuel storage capacity, operational resilience, safety, compliance and future network sustainability while maintaining continuity of Defence operations throughout construction.

The project comprises demolition, remediation and the construction of new Defence fuel facilities across multiple precincts, including new fuel storage, transfer and dispensing infrastructure, control systems, electrical and communications services, fire protection systems and associated civil works. A major component of the project involves the delivery of two new 3ML cut-and-cover aviation fuel storage tanks together with pump houses, tanker loading and offloading facilities, operations and laboratory buildings, hydrant fuelling systems, fuel recovery systems and supporting utilities.
