Status: In progress
Expected completion: 2026
Location: Alice Springs, NT
Project Value: $23M+
Client: NT Government, DLI
Contract Type: Construct Only
The Tanami Road serves as a critical arterial link connecting the Alice Springs region to Halls Creek, Western Australia. With the majority of the corridor falling within the NT, the road provides a strategic connection between south-eastern Australia and WA’s Kimberley region.
As a vital link for the exploration, mining, pastoral and tourism sectors and also servicing remote Indigenous communities, upgrading and sealing of the Tanami Road is federally funded through the Roads of Strategic Importance initiative.
The scope of work between 17km and 38km consists of cut and fill earthworks required to upgrade the existing single lane seal to a 10m wide formation, together with construction of cement stabilised floodway crossings and four major culvert installations.
